Windows, Siding & Doorsin Sycamore, IL

The DeKalb County seat has one of the best-preserved downtowns in northern Illinois, and the blocks around the courthouse are lined with 19th and early 20th century homes that owners have cared for across generations. NextWave Exteriors has worked on homes like these since 1982, and we know that getting the fit and the character right matters as much as the performance gain.

Replacement Windows for Historic Sycamore Homes

Century-old openings are seldom square and almost never a stock size. We order Pella® and ProVia® windows to the exact measurements of each opening, with divided-light grilles and period-appropriate colors, so a new double-hung disappears into a courthouse-district facade. Details specific to this town are on our Sycamore window replacement page.

Siding That Respects the Street

Sycamore's newer neighborhoods on the north and west sides are a different job: vinyl that has faded and cracked after twenty prairie winters. For those homes we install vinyl lap and insulated siding. For older homes where a clapboard profile matters, James Hardie fiber cement gives the right shadow line and shrugs off wind-driven rain.

Doors With the Right Proportions

A tall, narrow Victorian entry deserves more than a standard-height slab. Our fiberglass and steel entry doors come in sizes and glass patterns that suit older frames, and storm doors protect the original door if you would rather keep it. We replace worn patio doors on newer homes as well.

Why Sycamore Homeowners Choose NextWave

The most common story we hear near downtown is a quote for modern windows that would technically fit but would never look right. We would rather show you what preserves the home and still meets today's efficiency standards. Every job carries our lifetime labor guarantee, from a family-owned company that has served northern Illinois since 1982.
